Is your business facing financial difficulty?

Insolvency practitioners for companies in Birmingham

If your company is based in the Birmingham area and you’re looking for specialist advice from a firm of Licensed Insolvency Practitioners, Clarke Bell can help you.
We have spent more than 26 years using our insolvency knowledge and expertise to help company directors across the country.

Is your business facing financial difficulty?

As specialist Licensed Insolvency Practitioners, we help directors of companies in Birmingham to deal with their financial difficulties and ensure they are meeting all their legal obligations. We can work with you (and your accountant) to help you sort out your debt problems and cash flow issues. This means that you can then take back some control of your business and have a fresh start.

How our licensed insolvency practitioners can help you

Clarke Bell works with lots of company directors and their accountants in and around
Birmingham. We can offer you the high level of professional service that you should expect from a licensed insolvency practitioner, and at an affordable price.

We will look at your company’s financial situation to determine the extent of the problem. If appropriate, we will look at possible ways of refinancing or restructuring your company to try to rescue the business.

Even in circumstances where your cash flow issues are only temporary – e.g. due to the COVID-19 crisis – our insolvency practitioners can provide you with valuable input and guidance, including any steps you can take to improve your cash flow and get alternative funding.

Our services

If your company is insolvent (i.e. it can’t pay its bills), we can help you find the best option for your situation.
This could include:

● A Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation (CVL) from just £1,995 +VAT, +disbursements

● A moratorium to help you through the COVID-19 crisis – thanks to the Corporate
Insolvency and Governance Act 2020

● A Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA), which would end all legal action from
creditors against you, meaning things like winding up petitions cannot be instigated

● A pre-pack administration.

It is essential that you get the professional help your company needs as soon as possible when it is going through financial difficulties. Otherwise you run the risk of your company being forced into liquidation, after creditors have issued a winding up petition against it – and this may not be a desirable option for you.

Are you ready to close down your solvent company?

If your company is solvent and you are looking to close it down in the most tax-effective way – perhaps to retire or take up a PAYE role due to the IR35 rule changes – then we can also help you.

A very popular option is a Members’ Voluntary Liquidation (MVL) due to the tax savings that are available – especially if you are eligible for Business Asset Disposal Relief (formerly known as Entrepreneurs' Relief).

Clarke Bell has liquidated more than 2,000 companies through the MVL process, and we have securely distributed over £300 million in assets to shareholders. Our MVL fee is from £995 +VAT, +disbursements. The tax savings you can achieve from this HMRC-approved process will normally more than cover the cost of our fee.
